Emerald Ash Borer confirmed in Edmundston, New Brunswick and in Madawaska and Frenchville, Maine

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has confirmed the presence of emerald ash borer in the city of Edmundston, New Brunswick.
This finding was outside of the regulated area, which includes southern Quebec, southern Ontario, Thunder Bay and Winnipeg.
Effective immediately, the movement of all ash material such as logs, branches, and woodchips, and all species of firewood from the affected site, is restricted. The property owners in the affected area have been notified of these restrictions.
This insect has also been detected in Madawaska and Frenchville, Maine. Moving ash in these communities has been prohibited.
