My name is Michael Rochester and I live in Eagle Lake, Maine.  I am a licensed forester and work as a consultant out my home office.  I have many years of experience in the forest industry. I have an Associate of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maine. I earned Dean's list recognition many times during my studies and was awarded the "Math/Science Award" for my graduating class. I took and passed the Professional Forester exam administered by the State of Maine in 1993. 

 

Years previous to this, I worked as a forest technician for a forest management company.  Early in my career, I performed timber stand improvement operations such as thinning and pruning. I also owned and operated a skidder and harvested timber. I worked in a family owned Christmas tree operation that harvested 10000+ trees some years.  As a forester, I worked on industrial forest lands owned by Georgia Pacific for a few years.  There I helped plan and implement timber harvesting on a larger scale.  The rest of my experience is working as a consultant forester with the general public and local contractors. 

 

My forest management experience is quite extensive and the services that I offer are in a link below.  I have worked with cost-share programs for at least 30 years.  I am also currently managing woodlands for various landowners.  Some are small lots and some consist of thousands of acres. I have supervised many timber harvest operations for landowners and would be happy to help you with any of your future harvest operations plans.  I have utilized every type of harvesting method that is being used. I would also be happy to answer any questions that you may have for me. 

 

I built this website as an extension of my forestry service.  I have tried to include a wide variety of forestry related topics.  It is hard to find information and I use my own site often as an information source.  I hope that everyone that visits my site finds the information useful.  I would be happy to include special requests.
